What you can use without mobile data
Essential offline mode is a small, dependable fallback rather than a pretend version of the whole internet. It is designed to keep basic help available on constrained phones and during poor connectivity.
Available Essential tools can include approved factual help, simple writing templates, basic calculations and limited built-in content. Exact offline features can vary by app version and device.

What still needs internet
Online processing is necessary when the answer depends on a stronger cloud model, an uploaded photo, current information or a live web source. Mzansi Mind should never invent a search result or claim that online photo analysis happened on the phone.

How to use less data
Text questions are usually lighter than photo uploads. Ask a focused text question first. Attach one clear, tightly framed photo only when the image is necessary, and use Wi-Fi for repeated or large uploads where possible.
If the connection drops, wait for the app to show its mode before sending again. Repeatedly retrying an upload can use more data without improving the answer.

Why the offline boundary matters
A small phone cannot safely run the same model as a large server. Mzansi Mind prioritises a stable fallback over loading a model that could freeze or crash a constrained device. More capable local models should only be offered after real-device testing proves that they are safe and useful.
This approach is less dramatic than claiming everything works offline, but it is more honest for people paying for their own data and using the phones they already own.
